Has anyone explored upgrading their KL's non-auto-dimming manual adjustment rear view mirror?

I have found many OEM units available on eBay, but am afraid the process will be a little more complicated than plug-in-play. Any explorers out there that could provide some advice?

 

What version of connect do you have? My 8.4 (big screen) has a control to turn the dimming on and off. I would guess there is a computer feature that would need to be turned on. Much like the tow harness has to be engaged before it will work after an install.

Not sure how it works on the 5" uconnect
