So my 2014 Trailhawk began slipping into Neutral unexpectedly at 56,000 miles - a dangerous situation! The dealer said a new valve body might fix it (for $2700) but if not then a new transmission would be required for $6800. Needless to say I called Jeep Customer Care, but they informed me it was 6 years old and out of warranty so any repair would be at my own expense. So after another expert opinion I replaced the transmission with a Mopar remanufactured one - that cost me $4378 (plus the earlier diagnostic charges). I contacted Customer Care again and the nice lady opened a case for me to get reimbursement! But the case was denied, and I'm out the full cost of the repair. Just thought if anyone wants to know if Jeep will cut some slack with a known problem child, the 948TE transmission, the answer for me was NO!
