Has anyone ever swapped out the factory automatic transmission for a manual transmission?

Will the Wrangler manual transmission for the V6 fit in the Cherokee?

 

It fits nicely in the cargo area. :}

It's not possible as a transmission swap though. The 2014+ Cherokee engines are a traverse setup with a very different transmission arrangement than the rear-wheel drive Wranglers and previous XJ Cherokees. The 2014+ Cherokees all came with the 9-speed auto and front transaxle.

 

I just realized I was wrong about all the 2014+ Cherokees being automatic. The 2.0l diesel version sold overseas had a 6-speed manual option. Whether that would bolt up to the 3.2l is the question, and how upset the ECM would be not seeing the transmission.

 

Cant help much, as said we can get the manual 2l as I have in uk.
