PROBLEMS 2014 Jeep Cherokeer w/8.4" Uconnect
We have created a thread on another forum regarding this issue and I made a video of it today , I just wanted to stop by here and see who all has this issue. Please let me know because I am talking to one of the head end personal from Chrysler to settle this. My Jeep has been at the dealership for this issue 3 times and on the other jeep thread we have done testing on this matter for months. Let me know !
Thanks

wow, that is interesting, its not white noise, but close, im wondering what and where the interference is coming from? EXTERNALLY, possibly a signal tower? High Voltage Lines? man thats a new one on me.. do you live near anything super high powered? that could be emitting an EMp because that is very repetitive in nature..
next question i have for myself lol, is what internally could possibly make that bleed through the audio, Power amp Failure? something possibly ground out and causing an arc? geeze... im going to test mine now, i have never used that port.
what device are you plugging into the AUX port? if any at all? my wrangler would pick up my hand getting close to my smart phone and make a buzzing sound when i touched the screen, and also get louder the closer my hand was to the phone..

I am guessing you didn't take a look on the other Jeep site , As of now there are 17 of us with this same issue spanning from Vermont to Florida ,so I'm really doubting it a tower issue LOL . If you notice I can actually move the volume up and down without anything being plugged into the AUX port . On the 2015 you can't move the volume at all unless something is actually plugged into the AUX port. Chrysler is claiming it is normal and it's not an issue , but at the same time the 2015 is problem free. Take a peek at the other thread on the other forum and you will see we have been diagnosing this issue for a long time .

That cyclic sound isn't background noise or digital artifacts, which sound random.
That's interference, and I'd suspect something fairly close to the stereo wiring. I'd suspect, if it isn't happening universally, that some of the shielded cabling was stripped or damaged during installation, or somewhere within the wiring harness. I have to try mine.

Call 1-800-763-8422 and speak with Flacia @ extension 40561 , The more complaints the better as we need this fixed ! She doesnt answer all of the time but leave her a voice mail and she will return the call.

i am 99.9 percent sure that is a data signal bleeding over through that port... standard white noise through a speaker is SHHHHHHHHH, this pulses and repeats... its repetitions are on point, something in that Uconnect system is not ground properly and its picking up cpu commands. which translate to what you hear , and i do reserve the rights to be wrong. to save debate.

The 2014 and 2015 Uconnect system is the same exact part number ! So now figure that one out ! It has me baffled .

Honestly, it doesn't affect me since I use bluetooth or radio for my music, but if that is a universal problem it has clearly been fixed on the 2015's and should be corrected on the 2014's.
Good luck!

I agree , I just don't see how they would change the wiring so much from 2014 to 2015. One of the key things I have mentioned is the fact that the 2015 is Auto Mute in AUX mode unless something is plugged in.I called Uconnect today and was told a new software release may be out March 15th , I'm crossing my fingers hoping this will be the fix ! I also spoke to Chrysler today and I was pretty much told I have to live with it and there is NO FIX for my situation !
