I noticed that there are good factory incentives on Cherokee at this time (Factory $4000 rebate plus some other California incentives, another $1000).

With $5000 off the MSRP price, how much room do I have on negotiating the price further down at the dealership? Is another $2000 a realistic number? Model I am looking at is an L-plus trim Trailhawk, L-plus has lots of options included and hence high MSRP.

I see and hear TV and radio ads a lot for the Limited 4X4 with the 2.4L engine, but being that next month the new 2018 models will be shipping to dealers, I'd think dealers would be trying to sell off any and all remaining 2017 models to make room for the 2018's... it depends on the dealer and if they have a "No-Haggle" pricing policy or not... my local dealer doesn't haggle. I'd go around to different area dealerships and see who gives you the best price and/or lets you haggle a bit.

I did more investigation and inquired, and what you said was correct - some dealers give deep discounts and the deals are unbelievable. Even for Trailhawk L Plus some give about 10K off the MSRP.

2018 models are rumored to come with some refresh. Anyone knows what would be the differences?

I ended up with something similar. I got almost 10k off of my 2016 TH. There was a little wiggle room on both the car and the trade in. This dealership was not of the traditional haggle mindset however.
