The fuel door release button in all cars is basically located on either the door panel or in the driver's footwell to the left of the pedals. It's a pretty common location.

Took me a good 5-10 min to figure out wehre it was one day. It's funny my wife went to get gas in it when we first got it and I could see her hand prints on the fuel door trying to press and pull it open lol

I had the same problem and it's one of my few gripes about the vehicle.

The door release button is so tucked up under the arm rest that it's almost deliberately hidden. I recall I spent a few embarrassed minutes in the gas station downloading the manual to my phone at my first fill up because I couldn't see the door release button anywhere. I know the sales guy showed me where it was when I bought it, but I just couldn't find it again until I got out and crouched down. "Oh, there it is."

Ergonomic? Hardly.

Took me 15 minutes and this forum to start searching on the door. Never saw the fuel door release inside the door storage compartment on any vehicle before.

That probably explains why i seen a KL at the gas station a couple days ago with the fuel door missing. Ripped it off in anger, im guessing. Had pry marks and chipped paint all around it.

I doubt it. My KL doesn't even have a “release button”, I just press on the fuel door and it opens. The fuel door is plastic though...

Default It's only hidden the first time...........

My wife found it right off, but I was the idiot searching for a half hour!!!

P.S. Every vehicle I have had with a remote fuel door release has
had the lever on the floor, to the left of the drivers seat. But, even
if you open the door and get out and stand beside the car looking
down at that area, the release button is not visible unless
you are under 4' tall.
