I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this on your 2015 Cherokee Limited: when in cruise control, the display showing the set speed seems to lose some of its pixels, such that "MPH" reads more like" IIFH". I actually took another lot car out for a ride with the service advisor and had the same experience... and he said that he's seen it in several other cars since I brought it to his attention.
Here's a picture (which was fun trying to take in cruise mode).
I'm interested if this is a general problem, or limited only to some cars.
I've noticed the same issue with my 2015 TH that I believe was manufactured in Mar or Apr of this year. I'm guessing it's a software issue.
However, this brings up a question I had regarding cruise vs speedometer.
Has anyone noticed that what the cruise says it's set to ... versus what the speedometer shows the car is doing .... is off by a mile or more?
I've noticed several times when I have my cruise set to 71 MPH, the speedometer shows dead center between marks ... which would make it 73 MPH.
And frankly, I'm not sure which one to believe.
Lastly, I've noticed my car is not very good at keeping the cruise speed, especially when going downhill. It can gain about 3 MPH over where it should be. My Fords have done much better at maintaining the proper speed.
I'm guessing it's related to the 9 speed and the software controlling it. I know when I come down a steep hill with the cruise on, when the car gets to the bottom of the hill, the car will speed up, slow down, and then finally decide where it wants to be.
