Active Drive II - What is Sport mode for?
New 2016 TH V6, have not found a good answer in the manual yet.
On the selector, Sport mode is in 2nd position after Snow. Were it for "dry highway fun" I would expect it to be in the 1st position for quick access, like a Sport mode button in a PC.
Is Sport mode for dry pavement, hard packed dirt roads, or something else?

I have a 2014 Tailhawk. I frequently use the sport mode when driving around town or entering the freeways because the shift range changes and allows for better acceleration. It has a sportier feel to the drive as the transmission changes more rapidly. I do not believe there is any other function for this use and it would not be for off-road. You will notice the indicator light that comes on indicating the drive system is more of a rear wheel than all wheel drive function.

It gives a 40/60 power split, holds gear a little longer and tops out at 6th gear. Great for winding and mountain roads, bad for gas mileage. Snow is 60/40 power split and start out in 2nd gear.
