2016 cherokee transmission removal
I have a 2016 cherokee with the 3.2 and 9 speed transmission.
Dealer just diagnosed as bad transmission and want $11,000 to fix it.
That's just not in the cards right now so I'm wondering what I would be getting into trying to change it myself.
I have loads of experience in diesel pickups and semi trucks rebuilding engines, swapping trans ect. But have really no knowledge on this jeep. Ive done some fwd cars before where you pull engine and trans out the bottom together. Is it the same deal with this? And any special tooling needed or computer flashing when I'm done?

I think I'd be asking for more info than "bad transmission". I'm not overly familiar with this trans, but being electronically controlled perhaps this is something relatively easy to fix like replacing solenoids. There have been multiple recalls on the transmissions as well, mostly for software issues though.
