Default 2016 cherokee sport NEED ADVICE NOW

I was about to pull the trigger on a 2016 cherokee sport. However the consumer reviews from Edmunds, etc. on the 2015 is horrible, tranny issues among other things. I have not seen any change with the 2016 and the few reviews out there are not good.

I have a JK and two WJs, and they are "good" overall. But are the new jeep cherokees really this bad?

Thanks, I would appreciate any input.

I don't buy new cars, period, and when I buy cars, I NEVER buy the first year or two after a "redesign" or "introduction", they haven't worked all the bugs out of them. Did it exactly one time and the car was a complete lemon. I would give them another year or so.

Just traded my wifes 07 commander in on a 2016 KL Latitude. 8.4" Uconn upgrade.. I was super nervous about the whole ordeal because the commander was very reliable for us (60k miles in 4 years). Lucky for us the dealer gave us a million mile/20 year powertrain warranty...so much less for me to worry about.

I haven't personally had experience with the KL, but I DON'T recommend the Sport, as it's a "stripper" model with little options... you're better off making an end-of-year deal on a 2015 Latitude while the 2016s are starting to roll in... you'll get more options and better looks as well (alloy wheels, body-colored door handles and side mirrors), plus you can get the 3.2L V6 and Active-Drive II if you want, which is "true" 4X4. In fact, the Sport is so basic that even rental fleets don't rent it, and step right on up to the Latitude (some even rent out the Limited and Trailhawk)! Good luck on your purchase!
