2014 Trailhawk drive/chassis “ping”
As mentioned In the heading, my 2014 Cherokee Trailhawk makes a pinging sound when taking off from a stop. This happened once before under warranty, and the dealer re torqued the drive shaft and front chassis bolts. It fixed the problem until recently when the pinging sound has returned.
I called the dealer and they said it would cost me $100 to re torque them, even though it’s the same issue as before. I’m probably going to do it myself using blue loctite. My question is has anyone else had this problem with their Cherokee? I’m trying to figure out how common this is, because to me it seems like a major design defect.
