My bad, you are correct the engine is a 3.2L v6 not a 3.6L v6. As for the check oil instructions, while they do not differ between the engine models, they are different than how is was done for "older cars" and I was surprised to learn that, So, I would suggest "refreshing" how to correctly check your oil, specific to your car or truck before just pulling the dip stick and looking at it.

You bring up an interesting point. I’ve checked the oil when it’s hot for the past 20 years, following the OM instructions for the vehicles I owned. But apparently some check it when cold. Regardless, the OM is the final word since the dipstick will be calibrated for the specified temperature.
