I have always liked going out 4 wheeling with friends, but never bought one. Last month I turned 30 and decided it was about time to begin. I have been shopping on CL for about 2 weeks now and have found a ton of XJ's, but I am having trouble figuring out what is a decent deal as far as the year and milage.
I don't really feel its the best use of my limited time to go see everyone posted, so I need to be able to weed out any horribly high milage (for the year) XJ's. The latest one I am interested in is http://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/cto/2805157115.html I know that the rear main seal leak is an easy fix but want to make sure spending max $2400 for this 94 with 205k is decent (if nothing else is wrong with it). Any questions or advice are fully welcome, Thank you in advance

BTW My budget only allows a max of $3100, must be 4.0l, 4x4, 4-door, and from 91-95.

Welcome to CF. If you like the truck after a test drive, and everything's in working order, you can offer less and negotiate up if needed. That's not a bad price for a good looking Jeep though.

 

Hello, I realize this thread is almost a month old but I feel I have some valuable knowledge. I saw your age and i'm not sure if you have/want/almost have kids or are married but i'm pretty sure that non of those years have a passenger airbag and until 95' there were no driver airbag's. In this day and age people sometimes forget that airbags are still fairly new and that cars 15 or 20 years ago didn't have them. All the best luck, Rob

 

That's ok, I have recently bought one and it happens to be a 96 Xj sport. Dealing with a P0201 code issue at the moment. Thank you for you advice.
