Default sold my bronco so i could get an xj

well i just sold my bronco yesterday. i sold it for 3500. im gonna take 2000 of it and get a family vech for my wife and i wanna take 1500 and get an xj. i have found a few that i like but im wonderin bout the years and when they had that two peice axle on the front. there is one that is a 98 ($1000) that has damage on the front driver side corner. not real bad but it would need a new fender and bumper. hea also says it shuts off when it warms up. if you let it cool down it starts right back up. sounds like a coil to me... the other is a 93 xj for 1200. give me some advise please.

both would work. neither have the disco front axle. When you are shopping if you are concerned with that all you need to do is look under it. It has a odd shaped axle tube on pass side. Vacuum lines coming off of it too. I think they were in the 1990 models? You can get front end parts for pretty cheap.

Why yes I was wondering. Looks nice. I sure do miss my old 79. Did you ever remove the top during the summer?

And welcome to the site.

this is the motor i had built. 357w bored 30 over with ford lightning heads

i always wanted to take the top off and never did. i dont have anywhere to put it. i dont have a garage only a shed and i dident wanna leave it out side. but yeah it was a beast. verry strong. but it ate to much gas and alot of trails i went on it had a hard time gettin around the turns. the biggest thing was the ttb suspension. i was gonna do a solid axle swap and all that crap but then thought why? to much money and work. just buy something with good mpg, light, cheap to mod, and already has a solid front axle. cherokee fits the bill. just gotta find one
