I just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. I have been lurking around these forums for months now, gathering information and doing research while looking for the right Cherokee for me. Well today I made it official and with that I thought I would stop in and say hello. I would also like to say this is a great forum with tons of good information on it and thanks to everyone who takes the time to post. It helped me be well informed and allowed me to be confident in my purchase.

First a little background information. The first 4x4 I every owned was a 1977 Jeep Cherokee. I really enjoyed that Jeep, but unfortunately had to sell it out of neccessity. I then picked up and have been driving until very recently a 1988 Toyota 4Runner a great truck, although I had the 3.0 V6 and was never overly impressed with the engine so I decided to let it go. So now I have come full circle. I hope to add to the build thread as time goes on and any advice will be greatly appreciated.

So here are a few pics of my new toy. I have been looking for about 3 or 4 months now and holding out for a low mileage 99. Over that time period I have missed out on a few and was close to giving up and buying another year, but I'm glad I held out. That is one beautiful Jeep man. It's almost too nice to wheel in my opinion. If I were you I'd pick up another XJ if you plan on building a dedicated trail rig.

Wow 49k miles. That's pretty rare I'd say, even in a 99.
