I read the “thinking of buying an XJ” thread and browsed the forum for a while prior to getting an XJ today. The information was helpful.
I got a 2001 sport with 97k on the clock.
It it has a 3” rough country lift on it, and 31x10.50 on the factory steel wheels, so it rubs at full lock. I already ordered some cheap wheels with an appropriate offset. Tires are decent, so I’ll keep them on the new wheels until they wear out.
Overall it’s in pretty good shape, I’m going to replace the brakes all the fluids and see how it does from there.
Any thing I should keep an eye out for? I read about the head casting issue and possible vapor lock
not really any rust, I cleaned the hell out of it but the previous owner has a dog; who apparently road in the Jeep a lot there is still dog hair in the carpet in the rear
