Heya– long time lurker, finally joining to contribute and query away.
Little about me and the Jeep:
I'm originally from Washington State! All American, just moved here (Tāmaki Makaurau, NZ) a long while ago.
Have always been a Jeep kid because of my parents, thought my dream Jeep was a little 2door Wrangler, but slowly caught sight of XJs after seeing those woodie Wagoneers and quickly fell in love with the XJ's best-of-both-worlds sportwagon coziness that came with no compromise on power (except the whole overheating thing...)
My Jeep is my first one ever, just purchased it mid this year, and I already hope I can keep it alive long enough to be one of my lasts– it's absolutely perfect. In great condition for its age and our location, too (and only getting better! we're working hard over here)
The beast is lovingly named 'Riskie' for many sentimental reasons.
Here's one of my film shots of Riskie and a nice bit of local landscape.
We're now wrapping up battling all the electrical ouchies I've given Riskie after too much enthusiastic mud-puddle swimming during my first off-roading experience... absolute blast.
Overall goal is to try and soft-restomod it; revive the cosmetics of the vehicle to keep the classic style alive and looking new, improve the whole works for the fun sport side of things, and try to make this beauty of history reliable and last as long as time allows.
