Talking New XJ owner from Utah

Hello everyone

My Name is Phillip, I'm not new to jeeps or off-roading But I'm new to this forum and new to the XJ line

Just picked up a '97 Sport last night in SLC, UT and drove it home 160 miles with no issues which is nice

It's Green with Grey Int, Power everything which all works. I've been looking for a decent Cherokee in good condition for awhile and finally after Test driving "over-priced" junk heaps with more issues then I cared to deal with I finally found one that a family owned that was worth purchasing. Its has some stuff that needs to be addressed but very minor and more for me then anything else
I'll post a few pics as soon as its warmer outside.

My main plans for the Jeep aren't anything Radical. Just a daily driver and desert runner for my Family and I to enjoy exploring the Utah deserts and mountains.

I'm glad to be part of your community.

nice looking rig, good start for sure. Everyone says "this ones just gonna be a DD when they get it. The time varys, but everyone gets the jeep bug and starts modding to thier taste lol.

If you take the spare off the roof, youll get better mpg.

Thanks, I built a CJ5 a few years ago full on DD/Rock Crawler so I've done that This will be to my taste, but DD for sure. DD for me is around town If I travel for anything other then a desert/ATV/Hiking gig I'll always take my wife's accord, 33+ mpg it just makes sense.

Yeah The spare is coming off for sure.
