Hi, Shane! What clan claims you? (Ross & MacLeod, here.)
Information on how our LPG setup is done would be appreciated. They're not very common over here (not enough demand, not enough infrastructure,) and I've always been curious. I've heard of three LPG conversions so far - all from the UK.
So, bear in mind that most of us probably won't know much about the LPG conversion, but some of us do have some experience with LPG-fuelled engines (common on forklifts and other industrial gear. Under EPA regs, engines that are to be run indoors must be LPG-fuelled, so that sort of thing is somewhat common - just not in automotive applications,) so you can still get some help here.
Scotland wei heigh!

thanks for the welcome guys , I have to come clean though im not Scottish I moved here 5 years ago ......I am in fact a Welshman and be long to the LLYWARCH clan. which is a very old welsh clan.....I can trace my family back to the year 504 .
any way I here what your saying about lpg over here it is half the price of petrol (gas) and petrol is £1.42 per litre and lpg is 79 pence a litre , so its a big incentive over here to convert .

If the infrastructure were here, the LPG conversion might be more popular - but fueling is difficult, since LPG is less common than Diesel. Petrol is more popular simply because it is more common.
I've kicked around the idea of doing an LPG conversion, I just haven't worked out the mechanics of the conversion or of onboard fuel storage just yet...

Probably lower taxes as well, and LPG does burn rather cleaner (that's why it can be used indoors.)

there are two kinds of lpg conversions : single point and four point , mine is single point which is basically the lpg is sprayed in to the inlet manifold , the four point uses four new injectors with twin feed points one for lpg one for petrol .
theres much more to it than that but that's the basic concepts .

well mine is full lpg ! the original fuel tank is removed and a 2 gallon petrol tank and a 60 litre lpg tank in its place , the petrol tank is just for starting from cold and then you flip to gas.

I've serviced LPG engines, I just haven't done anything in terms of a conversion.
However, I'd really like to start by redesigning the cylinder head to allow for direct injection - Hell, go "whole hawg" and do a flex fuel setup (petrol/LPG/E-cuts,) adaptable engine management, direct injection, and the like.
Yeah, I've got big ideas. I'd really like to play around with a Coates CSRV head, but I don't know if they could be talked into making one for an engine that is out of production (look it up...)
