Newbie here just checking in to say hi! Recently purchased a cherokee project and found this site while surfing the net for info. The cherokee is an 87 model and is a project I picked up for my 14 year old son and myself to work on. It will be his first vehicle when he gets his license. Hope to teach him some of the fundamentals about a vehicle in general. He seems pretty interested so far.

It's great to hear of another father-son project. Post some pics when you can.

Welcome. I live in Houston and just joined this forum and started the same project for similar reasons. I plan on taking my grandson wheeling, fishing, camping etc.
Very nice jeep. Mine is almost the same year (1988).
My grandson is a little too young to show any interest (3) but I am sure once we get out there and start camping and fishing and such, he will really get a kick out of that, even though he could probably care less about how we got there. haha
