I own a 1991 Jeep Cherokee Sport, 5-Speed, 4.0, 4WD. I bought it brand new from Frontier Jeep in Lubbock, Texas back in 1991. I don't think I'll ever give her up. Heck... I've owned it longer than my wife and I have been married (22 years).
She's currently got over 150,000 miles on her and she'd not my daily driver anymore. I'm an airline pilot, so I usually park it at the airport I'm based at and use it when I need it there.
With the exception of a new transmission about 10 years ago... over the years I've done just about all the maintenance on it myself, including:
3" lift
Water pump
Radiator
AC Compressor & lines
AC Condenser
Brake Booster
Brake Master Cylinder
Turn signal return springs
Headlight switch
Mirrors
Bumpers
Miscellaneous sensors
Countless gear shift *****
Overall, this thing is easy to work on and parts are cheap... which makes it so much fun to own and play with.
I have three young girls and I intend to teach each one of them to drive the Jeep before any other vehicle.
Anyway... below are a few pics and there's more HERE or in the link in my signature line.
I posted this back in 2014... so I've had the wife now for 26 years and the Jeep for 27 years.
Just getting around to getting her road worthy again, and actually trying to participate in the forums for a change.
Oh...okay.. my bad... I went all the way to the top of the thread, but didn't look at the date since everything that lands on the first page of the introduction page/thread(s) is almost always pretty new.
I almost always come here first... to greet the new people to the forum... as I know that if I was joining a site, feeling that I was welcomed right away would make me want to stick around a lot more.
