Default New guy from north east Ohio

Thought I would take a moment to say hi and give a little background of how I ended up here.

I grew up in New Hampshire and I was always a big bowtie fan. Big tires, big trucks and big motors. 6 years ago my last bowtie was a Big jacked up k5 blazer my wife called it the "big loud white thing" when my first child was born I was talked into getting something "more practical" so I settled on a 1999 jeep cherokee. I bought with it 40,000 miles on it. almost 7 years later it has 147,000 miles and I have put next to nothing into it. no major problems or break downs. but time is starting to catch up to it and recently I was truck shopping and couldn't find one I liked. I realized that I really like my jeep. so I decided I'm going to rebuild it rather than buy a new truck. I also decided while i'm wrenching I will add a lift, bigger tires and upgrade everything.

I was a little aprehensive at first because everything I know about wrenching is from working on chevys but after comming here and seeing what you guys have done and reading a lot of your posts I am confident I made the right choice.

So a big hi from a new jeep lover.

thanks everyone. first thing I need to do is replace my wheel hubs on both sides. lil different than I am used to. I'm used to being able to just replace the bearings. I read up on it and and looked the pics someone on here had. looks pretty strait foward.

last week I changed all the shocks. kinda wish I had waited as I am now looking into getting a three or 3.5 inch lift and those shocks will not work. I did have a heck of a time with the top mounting bolts for rear shocks. they where pretty rusted and all but one snapped off. I had to drill and retap the holes and replace the bolts. not to bad but rather anoying to say the least. is this pretty common? what kind of fixes do they have for this problem. maybe a relocation kit or something?

next will be figuring out why my electric fan keeps running long after the key is off. the last time it was hooked up (fall) it never shut off just wore the battery down. any suggestions. I have to addmit elctric fans are very new to me.
