Default New Guy in need of help

Hey guys, I'm a 15 yr old looking at a jeep. My older brother drove a 92 YJ through High School, but my dad and I worked on it a lot. I am looking at buying a stock xj for <$1,000. What would it take to fit 35's? I'm gonna ****** the wheels from my brothers Heep when he gets 40's. also what would be the bare minimum to take on trails like the ones at Jasper, GA's annual jeepfest. I want to try and do as much DIY as possible. I am going to try and fab my own swing out tire carrier, bumpers, rock slides. So, what do y'all think would be the easiest way to get on the trails?

I did the Jeepfest trails in 2wd on 30's. Easy stuff.

You'll need however much lift you want, 35's, and gears. 35's on stock gears will suck.

I would recommend 4.5" lift, long arms, 4.88 gears, lockers, and better steering.

Hey, thanks for the help. Any idea on the cost of doing all of that?

Do you live in GA? Haven't been to Jasper, but hear it's a good time.
