Default New guy from LA

Hey new guy here from Lower Alabama, I do not have a cherokee yet i am looking at buying a 96 with 160K miles on it the guy only wants 1100 for it.. It is my first jeep and i am pretty excited about it.. My question is is there anything i should specifically look for? any advice is greatly appreciated.. thanks alot in advance..

Hey Nick. Obviously check for rust in the floors, inner rocker panels, and rear quarter panel areas. Pull the oil fill cap off and look for a milky substance that would indicate a bad headgasket or a cracked head. Also with the engine idling and the oil fill cap off, there should be a slight suction from the hole, not smoke blowing from it as that would indicate excessive blow-by. Make sure the engine doesn't overheat. Make sure all electrical accessories work correctly. Check the axles and transfer case for leakage.

hey thanks everyone for the warm welcome. i hope it all checks out.. i am anxious and really excited to start adding stuff to it and making it my own. and thanks alot ol"blue thats the kind of info i was hoping to receive.. i will make sure i check all that.
