New guy, just moved from VA to CA in a 1996 Cherokee Classic!
As the rather long title says I moved from VA to CA in a 1996 Cherokee Classic. If I had my option I would have just stayed in VA, but anyways, Uncle Sam said move so I did.
I should have bought the 1998 Red Cherokee I saw that was already lifted and seemed nicer, I have no idea why I didn't
Anyways, I'm in the military and stuck here in CA for probably 3-4 years.
I drove across the country and at about Oklahoma I started to have acceleration issues. I would just lose power below 1/2 tank of gas. Also when I fill up full it indicates just over 3/4 of a tank.
I put a diagnostic reader on it and no error codes, so then I replaced the fuel filter just a few hours ago, the fuel got on me of course :P. The color of the fuel made me confused, it was 2/10 brown and the rest clear.
Anywho hopefully the new filter will clean up the fuel, I drove it after and it feels and sounds so much better than before, and I haven't lost power yet, I still have the issue with the fuel guage not reading Full.
Anyways, nice to meet you guy and hope to have lots of fun in my Jeep in the High Desert

Yeah I was going to say run a good injector cleaner.. not the cheap stuff... and my gas gauge randomly tells me I'm empty.. even after I just filled completely up... I knwo mine is a bad fuel level sending unit... not sure what would cause yours to do that... woudl almost seem like the float might be hung up so it won't show completely full... that's just me.. glad to hear you are running along good again.. I hope I get PCS'd away from the east coast again.. Welcome to CherokeeForum!!

Welcome to CHEROKEEFORUM, and thank you for your service.
No worries on buying a stocker vs a built truck, makes the build process more meaningful.
