I've got both a '97 w/the 5.2L V8 and an '04 w/the 4.7L V8. The '04 rides better, gets better mileage, but can't tow as good as the '97. The '97 rides more like a truck, it's a Limited/Orvis w/the Up-Country suspension. The '04 is only an SE. Both have the heavy-duty cooling system & trans coolers and towing package.
I like the '97 better, my wife likes the '04. I guess it's just a matter of opinion.
