Drive a 2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ 60th Anniversary (black with cloth agate interior) with just under 68,000 miles on it. Bought it brand new way back when

Found the forum while looking into info on interior mods. See, my wife had a 2006 Grand Cherokee HEMI that was driving us mad. Lifter went bad out of warranty (with 25k miles on the clock), then suffered $8k in hail damage (new roof and hood adn lots of PDR) and was never right after that. Finally decided to get rid of it a few months back with 39k miles on it.

Anyway, since I decided to keep my beloved XJ, I decided to dump a few bucks into it and make it seem "new" to me. Pretty simple to start, bought 4 door panels from a limited and the center radio bezel for wood trim, some new Rugged Ridge TL mats, and new head unit and 6.5" speakers all around.

Now am still on hunt for heated/power leather

where about in chicago are you? you got to hit the junk yard for the leather seats. i scored the leather seats awhile back and sold to my buddy. i can ask him if he want to sell it cuz last time i talked to him he was thinking about it..

you have pics of your xj? those are pretty rare i saw one in dark green color with leather seats. im surprise they didn't come with leather seats

 

The 60th XJ only came in Black or Silver.

Mine is basically a Limited exterior (painted bumper caps) with Classic interior. The 60th Anniversary package Is mainly just a badge on each side + floor mats with the 60th badge embroidered. It also has fancy 16"x7.0 aluminum wheels. I know all this cause I have the window sticker in front of me. LOL

I'll get a pic in a bit. It is a city car so it has soem dings, keys, and hail damage from that horrible storm 2 or 3 years back on 4th of July.

Your buddy with setas doens't live by Pulaski/Fullerton does he? Been texting someone that has a set from CL just can't coordinate a chance to look at them.

 

the green one i saw have badges on the side. yeah my buddy live that way i think. he got a mail man xj with steering wheel on the pass side.

 

This guy said he was looking to sell as he wanted some wheels. If that is him are they in good shape? CL pics were hard to tell.

here's mine when it was clean at one time. i don't go through logan square a lot not that it's my favorite neighbor lol. if you see me you can wave cuz it's probably me. as far as i know im the only 2001 patriot blue color lifted xj around the six corners area. oh and i do have leather seats

 

Know any decent body shops? I have an insane amount of rust all over my roof. Like several hundred bubbles, many broken through paint.

Having a hard time justifying having it ground down and repainted as I assume it will just come back. Wondering if I shoudl let it go till it breaks through then get roof replaced.

 

yes they are in good condition. the driver's seat is the only one that that have tear but that's easy fix you can take to any upholstery shop in the city that will do for cheap. i had to replaced the bottom piece on mine. think i paid 75 dollars

Yeah may have to hit a few of the smaller shops around here to see what they can do.

Has to be some sort of factory defect to go that bad, especially the roof.
