Hey guys,
Picked up my 01 Xj a few months back and thought I'd join the forum since I often come to the site.
It was bone stock when I bought it and had 100k miles on the dot. The rear leafs were flaking apart and saggy so I took the opportunity to replace suspension with the rubicon express 3.5 kit with full leafs and lower control arms. Also went with black steelies with 4.5 in backspace and 31x10.5 pro comp at sports. After that, put in the AA Sye and adams rear driveshaft to correct the vibes. Upgraded the wiring harness/headlights to the hella e-codes and then painted the faded gray trim a flat black. Lastly, the speakers were shot so put in some Polk audio 6.5 db's that I got for $50/pair along with a Kenwood head unit.
The jeep has run great but the oil level kept seeming to creep up along with unexplained coolant loss... you know where I'm going with this. Took one members advice and shined a flashlight down the oil fill cap and saw green float by in the oil. Knew right away I had joined the cracked 0331 club. My oil pressure had been low lately as well, but finally knew for sure. After researching my options I went with the 4.0 replacement long block from ATK which will go in this week. It's my daily driver so decided on the engine swap for the hopes of long term reliability instead of monkeying around with a new head and hoping the bottom end is ok.
Thanks for the tips you guys have provided on the forum that's helped me over the last few months.

Beautiful Jeep. Thanks for sharing this. Much appreciated. Bought mine with the 0331 also shot. Please keep us posted on how it goes with the Jeep and the ATK.
