This is my 99 xj in it's current state. Bought it cheap from a guy who didn't want to fool with a coolant leak. One of the freeze plugs was missing so it was a cheap fix. I'm pretty new to jeep modding, but my plans for it are escalating quickly.
I'm planning on a 3.5 lift with coil springs from an F150 and bastard pack with S10 leaf springs. There's a Volvo at the junkyard that I'm gonna pull the lockers off of. Anyone try anything like that? If so, how well did it work?

Probably, but I might be ok with that. More specifically, I think they need to be from a '70 or a '77, I can't remember off the top off my head. But that's why I would really like to talk to someone who has done it. I think there is a good chance I might run into issues like the one you just mentioned.

Yeah, but I'm trying to do a budget lift. I'm still mulling over how I really want to go about it. First things first, I need a header panel.

I started thinking 3.5-4, but the more I think on it, the more I lean towards something bigger like 4.5-5.

I'm pretty new to jeep modding, so I started out with a conservative mindset. That conservative mindset is dissolving quickly.

Right now we're straightening out a crunched panel that was pinching the radiator hose. Once my header panel comes in i can know one and for all that the missing freeze plug was the only coolant leak.
My boyfriend just gave our dog a face full of grinder sparks. He tried to smell them!

What's a build thread? You mean specifically for my jeep? That would be so cool!
