Default New Driver!

Hey guys, just turned 16 and was gifted a Jeep Cherokee 200 Sport, 6-cylinder 4.0 L. It's got 127,000 miles but doesn't sound like it. I love it so far!
Unfortunately, no mods were done on it
I came here hoping I could get some tips on what would be good to start with, I was thinking a brush guard would be something I'd get first, but I dunno where to start.
I don't plan on off-roading on a normal schedule, but maybe something I'd do a couple times out of the year. So one of the $1,000 brush guards/bull bars isn't what I'm looking for.
Right now I have about 500, but when I get a job I'll have more to work with.
Any tips?

1 welcome, where are you from?

2, save your money on the brush guard, they only make damage worse if your offroad and hit something

3. with $500 I would be looking into a budget boost type lift. then hunt for good used tire deals and start reading. mine stated out with a budget lift and I wheeled it that way for almost 2 years.

I'm from Ohio, south of Cleveland.

Even if the off-roading I did was more in a flatter, marshy area rather than a rocky one?

And alright, I'll look into that. Thanks for the tips!

yeah i'd stay way from brush guards I've pulled more then a few off at the trail head and seen the damage they can cause on the trail. and if you stay in the sport for a but you'll start playing around on rocks.
