New From Damascus OR
Been lurking for about a year now learning this and that about an inherited 92 XJ.
I've only just started to begin working on my XJ and I'm really enjoying it. The satisfaction of working all night on a project and it coming together in the end makes me feel great.
A little about my driving style:
I don't really go wheelin too frequently, maybe 1-2 times a moth, this is my daily driver so I dont want it to be needing too much work, even though I do kinda like when something small breaks cause that means its time to go to the junk yard. I usually drive on road about 200 mi a week gettin around and stuff.
This is about the extent of my off roading:
Pre-Upgrades:
my very beginner projects:
-Roof Rack: A home-brew roof rack inspired by you folks and other people in my town. I have more photos if anyone would like me to post.
All welded up and mounted:
Black semi-gloss powdercoat:
Mounted lights
-Headliner
Replaced the old sagging headliner for a new one:
-Lift Kit: 3" Rough Country lift kit. Recently installed.
Mid-Installation
Finished. Total time was about 8 hours:
New 31X10.50X15 Nexen Roadian ATII on black steelies.
-Diff Cover: Reading around here about painting the rear diff cover, and it was time to change the fluid so I figured what the heck.
Drive train:
-All stock
-231 TC
Looking into:
-SYE and drive-shaft swap.
-Rock sliders
-Bumper set
Misc:
- Flowmaster muffler with 2" tail pipe. Sounds beefy.
- 2 12" kenwood subs(looking into building my own cubby sub)
- New speakers and stereo deck
- Spare and Hi-Lift mounts
- Ammo can toolbox
- Come-Along
- Cup holders
The things I have done recently have been relatively low-cost, but I am piecing this thing together one thing at a time.
Looking forward to helping others when I can!
