Hey guys, Glad to be a part of the community here. I purchased a '98 Sport 4.0 4x4 last week. It was in non-running condition at the time, so I got it very very cheap. ($500) This thing is in excellent condition inside and out. the undercarriage is spotless, and there isn't a spot of rust on it. Somebody had installed an alarm system in it, and it had failed, which prevented the Jeep from even cranking over. I uninstalled the alarm, and had to put a new fuse into pos 11 for the ignition to finally fire. Well, I got it running in less than an hour, and noticed that the gauges didn't work, and the airbag light was on. After a little searching, I found the problem, and made a trip to the salvage yard yesterday to pick up a new clock spring, and had to get a new ignition switch as well, since mine was broken. Well, My jeep runs like a champ, no issues at all. The transmission shifts perfectly, and the 4 wheel drive is sound. I did have to replace my rear bumper with a junkyard piece since mine was smashed, but the was no damage to the body underneath the damaged bumper. All in all, some very easy repairs made easier by all the information I found on this board before I even joined. I now have a very nice truck in basically pristine conditio for a grand total of less than $560. I hope to be checking back in from time to time. Thanks again,
