Not only am I new to Cherokee Forum I am also new to auto work. I have a 1996 Cherokee Country that I bought new and it needs a lot of work. It runs good but the interior, exterior, and a few places in between need a lot of TLC and I'm going to need a lot of advice. I want to get it back to a like new state. It only has a little over 87,000 miles on it. My first question is where do I start? Do I do the inside first or the outside first?

thats really up to the owner...

have you done proper maintenance on recommended intervals?

if not... this may be a good starting point...

if it was me.. i would just make a list of everything that needs to be replaced.. or repaired.. and start from the top and work your way down the list..

Do the inside first so you don't risk putting scratches and dings on a fancy new paint job.

Thanks XJriot that's a good idea because I would certainly hit the body while taking the inside apart.

Hi and welcome from across the pond, I would concentrate on the mechanical and hardware bits first, then muck around polishing and tarting up last.
Post up pic's as you go.

As I see it there are three areas to any jeep project. 1. Mechanical 2. rust, and 3. add ons/accessories. I would tackle your issues in that order. IMO. welcome.
