New (?) from Astoria OR.
Hello. I am new here, although I thought I joined years ago oh well regardless I have just moved to Astoria in November 2013 after my whole life in Ohio.
Jeeps? I have had a few. Lets begin here in Ohio.
'94 2.5 5 speed manual. Rusted beyond belief ( Although it looked some what decent) Bought it and not even a week later the lower control arm rotted off the axle. Put newer axle in it and drove.
( CJ7 in back was also mine, complete torn down and build up. 258 3 speed manual. Sold it long ago. )
While I still had the black '94 I picked up a red '96 Sport 4.0 5 speed manual.
A month later....
31's on '98 Wrangler rims, 2.5 inch lift, other stuff.
Still had the 3.07:1 gears.
Knowing I was going to scrap the black '94, I swapped axles for the 4.10's Both Cherokees had the Dana 30/ 8.25 combo, so it worked for me.
Scrapped the '94.
Fast forward years later....
33's and more stuff. Couple mods.... One was...
L.E.D. turn signals.
Other then that a mixture of parts to lift it. S10 springs/Skyjacker rear, Pro-Comp/ I forget up front, Grand Cherokee steering, Durango Alternator, Home built OBA with tank, Modified the T/C linkage to get rid of the junk that was factory, Stupid other little things that would probably seem point less. Example I swapped out all the plastic outer door handles for the early ones from a Cherokee that were metal. Upgraded the outer mirrors for the '97-'02 version and same with the inside visors. ( Vanity mirrors )
Oh well. Wheeled it and watched it rust from the inside out. Was going to to more but ended up selling it.
Bought a few ****** CJ2A's, tore them down and ended up with this '47...
Then I moved. Left the Jeep there, for now.
Now I have this....
'74 Cherokee with a 401 Auto. First year of the Cherokee.
So technically I don't have a XJ
