Default New from Arizona

Just a greeting from Surprise, Arizona. I recently bought a 98 Jeep XJ Sport. I am new to Jeeps and all that comes with it. I bought it mostly to do some minor 4-wheeling and to take my family camping and such. I am finding that I am capable of more than I thought when it comes to fixing stuff and I am learning as I go. Such is life with a 20 year old vehicle. So far so good. I look forward to hearing from folks and learning a great deal. I haven't changed much on my XJ... bought it as is. I have plans for all sorts of stuff as the budget allows, and have needs as stuff breaks. I can use all the help and advice I can get.

Welcome to the forum and the family.... yes, you will quickly find that older Jeeps are fairly needy children... and stuff does go wrong with them on a semi-regular basis. But at least they are fairly easy to work on yourself.... which is a huge plus. I've always worked on my own vehicles my whole life... but with XJ's you don't have to be an ASE certified tech to work on them. Patience and asking questions on here when you're lost or haven't come across the issue you're experiencing before. We're good people here and always willing to help a fellow Jeeper out.
