From Musclecar to Off Road, Hello everyone!
Hi everyone,
My name is Mike. I recently completed, drove, enjoyed and finally sold my 70 Dodge Superbee. My 1st Jeep was an 88 YJ Sahara, but that was back in 99 and I did not really do much with it except beach driving. Looking to get into off roading now with an 88 XJ Laredo.
My Cherokee is not lifted (yet) and sits on the 235s. I think I have enough room for 30s though without any rubbing. I pretty much went out and bought about the ugliest Jeep I could find but it has potential. D30/D35 with mechanical lockers front and back. The previous owner put them in. I figure I will run them till I break them. On board 110V welder and power source.
This will most likely be my learner rig for the next few years. Build it a little and build skill sets. Eventually I plan on hitting the Rubicon but prolly not with a cherokee but we will see.
I only have one pic for now but when I pull it out of the garage (working out the bugs and bringing it up to a road worthy condition) I will start a build thread and share the process/progress with everyone.
I have already found helpfull information on CF. I think I may have been able to share a little I learned just from working on mine already.
I am hoping to hook up with some local(ish) off roaders and do a shakedown run in the next couple of months.
Well ok then, that about does it. Questions? Hit me up.
Thanks everyone.

Welcome aboard Mike. You sold a 70 SuperBee??? If I had one that would be something I'd never part with. What were you running in it? Old MOPAR guy here. First car was a 70 340 Duster. Again welcome aboard, and good luck.

I was raised right...you know Mopar or NOcar. Well it was hard to sell it that was for sure. But the money paid off all my bills and my wife was able to quit her job and be a stay at home mommy for our daughter.
My bee had a 440 in it. Not original but oh well. I will post a pic sometime when I get some time.
Nice to see all the Mopar folks here. My first car was a 72 duster with a 225 slant six. Later I had a lil red express truck. Got poor and had to sell it while I was still in high school. Was not worth anything then. Got my hands on a numbers matching 70 R/T charger in 98 and lost my job in 99 and sold it to make ends meet and move for a new job.
I am full into the Jeep thing now though. Skilled on the road and track but looking to challenge my self off road. Fairly all new to me but looiking forward to a new adventure.

I stil have my grandpas 1966/67 Dodge Polara 2door, automatic, 383, it needs restoring, but body isnt in bad shape, & as for the year, the original title said both years, DMV titled it in my name as a 67, but it is a 1/2 year car, & has some oddities.
I had plenty of mopars growing up, as well as Fords, & Chevys, in both small block & big block, all on the road at the same time, I had to see which was better, never did figure it out, as better depends on how its previous life was. sold a 70 Plymouth as well as a 66 belvedere 2 years ago, both I had owned for many years.
