Default Masshole

Hello all. Im Bill. I live in the Plymouth area of mass. I run an 04 Grand Cherokee. 4.0. I Love this ride. It pulls my pop-up, 4 wheels awesome in the soft, soft, SOFT sands of Duxbury Beach, tows a double jetski trailer with ease to up state NY( by accidently leaving it in 4wd for the trip back home). with out an issue. Just paid it off 2 months ago!!!! I am chasing an oil leak. From reading here, Valve cover, Oil filter adapter thing, Or rear main seal. My luck its the RMS. We bought this in 07 with 50,000 or so. The oil filter was always directly on the block. It did not have that oil filter assembly. Anyway, that is a question for another day. Just did shocks all around. I am getting use to the ride. Its a little stiff but made a huge difference in handling. Only took me about 1 1/2 hours to do.(I have 2 boys. 8 and 4)and 2 new headlights off ebay for $86. I hope to learn alot from this forum, as well as help out when I can!

I love my WJ also, but it has the 4.7L V8. Oil leaks are hard to track down. Try spraying it down with brake clean and wiping it down thoroughly. Then keep an eye out for where it's coming from. The oil filter adapters o-rings are notorious for leaking, and the valve cover bolts sometimes come loose.
