I recently totaled my car and I'm joining the Navy so ill have to get a vehicle eventually, I've always been intrigued by jeep, especially the Cherokee. My parents owned a wrangler when i younger and it ran forever with minor breaks apart from trail riding and rock crawling

I've been looking at the 1999 Cherokees, I don't know where to start on finding different trims and part pricing seeing as i'm new into the jeep community. I'm looking to make a collaboration between a daily driver and an overlander.

if anyone can help point me into the right direction of what to look for in a good Cherokee and what problems the 96-01 have (assuming the overall body condition is good and mileage is relatively low)and maybe some mods down the line, lift kit suspension or body, tire size, engine upgrades, etc, any information would greatly appreciated and thank you in advance
