Just bought my first Jeep! (Oregon)
Hello, everyone! I was looking at Pathfinders for a long time but recently started looking at Cherokees for the extra torques, and tonight I finally picked one up. It's a 1998 Grand Cherokee Limited with the 5.2 V8 at 173k miles. It seems pretty okay but has the following issues:
-Strange pump sound coming from behind LF headlight
-The light around the ignition stays on forever
-Heated seats aren't working
-Most interior lights aren't working
-Computer says rear hatch is always open
-Computer says coolant temp sensor is bad
-Computer says rear lamp is out when it isn't
-Hatch needs new struts
-Windshield has a pretty big crack
-Window in rear hatch won't open
All in all, it's about what I was expecting for only spending $2,000. I just needed a good snow vehicle to get me to school in Klamath Falls next month, and I went with the V8 for towing (would like to get a tent trailer next summer). If anyone knows any simple solutions, or could point me toward DIYs for any of the above problems, I'd be very grateful! I have learned a lot by doing most of the work on my BMW for the last six years and I'm excited to see what I can make of this Jeep. Seems like a lot minor issues, but I'm totally new to this vehicle! Thanks for your time.
