Talking I've gotten the bug...

Not swine flu, but the XJ Virus!

Having very nearly (as of this coming Friday) paid off my daily-driven Mazda 626, I am now looking for an inexpensive toy to continue spending money on. (Habits, you know?)

Since I've loved XJ Jeeps from as far back as my elementary school years, I've been searching for an early ('87-'96 4.0-liter) XJ Cherokee in decent shape. Having narrowed the hunt down to a few likely candidates, I decided I'd better sign up so I can bounce my findings off of the experts before making the plunge and writing any big checks.

I'm a newbie here, of course, but I've been very active in other forums in the past and am quite familiar with the "Search" button. Thus, I hope not to ask too many stupid questions before finding what I need.

With that, here's to Jeep - and here's hoping Chrysler survives long enough to keep building them for us. (Assuming someone else doesn't pick up the brand if necessary, of course.)

Thanks for the greetings!

I just have to mention your apparent fondness for turbocharged Omnis - that's another one of my weaknesses, oddly. It's long been a dream of mine to stuff a highly-tuned 2.2 under the hood of a Horizon America and go chew up Civics. Thus, I salute your dedication to the cause.

I'm actually in the Springs myself! Good to know there's local forum support if I need it.
