Another wor dof advice for ya. Check out craigslist. I see 97+ XJ's on there for under 3 grand all day long!

In that price range you can find an extremely clean, lower miles XJ if you keep looking. Don't jump on first impulse. If you find one you're interested in take it to a mechanic/garage to have it checked out.
