Howdy From Nebraska
Howdy folks, I have a 91 Cherokee that shelled a pinion and ring gear on the front axle. I took the cover off and cleaned the shrapnel out of the housing and realized the lock bolt for the center pin was the culprit. Its gone and I assume its been ground up with the pinion teeth.Shouldnt the center pin slide out once the lock bolts removed? Mine will not and seems to be stuck in place. Im sure the lock bolt is not broken off in the hole because I can stick a drill bit full length into the bolt hole. Any advice or ideas? Thanks for any help!
