Howdy from Cajun Country
Has anyone seen the commercial for autotrader.com where the guy sits at his desk all weekend looking at cars online? That is how I spend my weekend, reading this forum and anything else Cherokee related. Didn't even take a shower
Guess I'll do the obligatory newb post and introduce myself to the board. This is the first Jeep for myself although the third Jeep I've purchased. She put the first one in the lake (black ice) and is still driving the 2nd one. My dad knew I was passively looking for a Cherokee and he came across this one from a doctor he goes to church with. It is a red 92 with 100K miles and bone stock. My dad is retired and likes to tinker around and after going from stem to stern he couldn't find anything wrong other than the driving lights not working.
I can't get away from work to pick it up until mid July. He took it and had the windows tinted and other than that it is bone stock. I began ordering parts last week including: custom built front and rear bumpers, roof rack, stereo, body armor, LED rear lights, high intesnisty back up and driving lights, 4 Hella flood lights that will be mounted on the front bumer and 6 more on the roof rack (4 forward facing 2 rearward). The tires are brand new and I can't see replacing them just yet. Maybe if someone is willing to donate towards the cause?
I doubt there will be any hard core wheeling but decided to build it like I might take a trip to Moab. That way it is already purpose built and won't have to replace any non-functoning parts. Is that being a poser or thinking forward?
Yep yep, I know this thread is worthless without pics but I have only seen it once and as soon as it is picked up I'll start the build thread.
Ruby is the name of the Jeep. My dad loves Ruby red grapefruits and the Jeep is red. Names it in honor of my dad. Hope that isn't to cheesy. Looking forward to reading about others adventures and meeting a few friends along the way.
