Hi there, introducing myself and my Jeep
Hi there,
Just wanted to Introduce myself. I have recently bought a Jeep Cherokee 4.0L Sport (1996). This is one of the first 4x4`s I have driven, and can say that I think its a fantastic motor. The sound is just awesome, and its got some pulling power. I have read a bit on here since buying it and thought I should join the community.
I have basically not done much since buying it, well... I unfortunately never really took before pics, but hey...
It has 70K on the clock.
I’ve uploaded a couple of pics
I`m planning on running this as a winter vehicle, but as I found some great bits for off- roading recently, I have now become addicted to that too... So I might be thinking of some potential mod`s, ie Lift kits etc... As I`m a complete newbie however I will have to take it slow..
I`ll load some pics of the interior later, which I have now changed to Black leather, and modernised a bit I suppose..

Those goofy wrap around pastic lens over the headlights have to go! I know they were an option on export models, which by judging the side markers and long license plate, yours is too.

Thanks
Hi Guys.. Thanks for the welcome.
I initially bought this jeep as a winter vehicle, and did not know what to expect, reliability etc..... Since having it though I have completely fallen for it, and cant drive it enough. It has some serious grunt for a start and is as solid as a rock.. Here is the Jeep as It stands... I`ll pop on some photo`s of the interior later. I also have begun a PC integration project so I`ll start a thread to get some guidance on that.
4.0Ltr Jeep Cherokee Sport Oct 1996(Bought in UK)
I have a free-slow exhaust system system lol.:P.. well not really I just bashed the HoneyComb from out as it was rattling... but it actually sounds better... may be my imagination but it seems to pull better too??
Apart from changing the oil filter, air filter and Fuel filter, its mostly untouched. I have removed the Red rubber strips from the door panels, and have done some work on the interior. It was a pretty boring grey interior and is now black. I still need to upgrade the dashboard dials etc., but I will need some help on that too. Small steps..
Thanks
JJ

Welcome! Your jeep kinda reminds me of urs. I have a 92 I recently bought and to my excitement only had 62000 when I bought it. Gotta love it! Welcome aboard
