Hi from Springfield, MO!
Well here's the back story. When I was 17 I bought a 1997 red 4 door cherokee with the up country suspension and I put some eagle (I think) 6 hole chrome wheels with super swamper thornbird tires, I believe they were 29x12.50 but cant seem to find that size anymore, who knows. The thing sounded like a airplane taking off when i was accelerating from the tires, but it looked great! Well, i was young and dumb and sold the jeep for a fast car.
Fast forward 10 years, had my share of other cars, but have always said my favorite was my cherokee. I had some money laying around and decided to search for a clone of my old one. Found a 97 red 4 door, this time a sport model and no up country suspension. It was fairly clean and ran great so I jumped on it.
Now for what my plans are. I really only need a 4x4 a couple times a year but my 2wd lowered truck basically doesn't move in the snow. I want to be able to go anywhere I want with 12ish inches of snow without worrying much about getting stuck. I have found the budget 3" lift and think that will probably fit the bill without breaking the bank, $300 with shocks. What I really don't know about is tires. I liked my thornbirds but they are pricey and I don't want to drop that kind of money so if anyone has good ideas on a very aggressive tire that doesn't break the bank let me know! (I will probably only drive this 2-4k miles a year, so wearing out sooner with better snow/mud performance is okay)
Oh, and I just have the pics off craigslist but its dark out and haven't had time to take any pics.
Oh, and a couple projects just because.
