Hi Member, 95 ZJ
Hi, my name is Anthony. I'm retired and enjoy off-roading, tinkering around, metal detecting, the outdoors, gardening, those types of activities.
My jeep is a 1995 (ZJ) 5.2 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited that I got a couple of years ago, it had 75,000 miles on it, now it has 119,000. The ZJ is stock, and just recently I fryed the viscous coupler in the NP 249 J transfer case. The VC because bound up as I was doing about 50 mph on a slippery muddy road.
The first thing that I notice was the TCM defaulting the transmission into working/pulling/strain mode. But I had previously I'd noticed some binding and chirping on pavement during a turn. Now I'm in the market for a remanufactured, or mayby rebuilt NP 249 J TC.
Anyway here's a what I can remember replacing so far, and a few of photos, and no that's not the muddy road that I toasted the VC coupler on:
This is what I can remember replacing so far:
water pump
thermostat x 2
radiator x 2
serpentine belt tensioner
serpentine belt
extra honey comb stock rim for spare tire
battery
transmission
drive shaft u-joints
Magna Flow catalytic converter
Flow Master muffler
radiator reservoir
radiator cap
O2 sensor
EGR valve assembly
gas cap
spark plugs
spark plug wires
distributor cap
distributor rotor
coil
brake rotors
brake pads x2
fuel filter
air filter
vacuum purge tube repairs
MAP sensor (manifold air pressure)
PCV valve (positive crankcase ventilation)
TPS sensor (throttle position sensor)
IAC sensor motor (idle air control)
IAC sensor (idle air control)
