Default Hey All

Im the typical "newbie"
I live temporarily in Portland OR. going to school and cant afford a lot but I baught my XJ with a 2"coil spacer and extended shackles. My question is if I were to trim the fenders and put cut out fender flares on and add an extra 2" would I be able to fit 33" without rubbing too much? I use this as a daily driver so I don't want to do too much. I go into the hills out by Scotts mills Oregon to ride some trails a few times a month so I do want more clearance and I like the look of bigger tires. It looks like by trimming the fenders I gain 2-3"space. so with 4" lift and trimed fenders i'd be able to fit 33's.. Am I right?
Im thinking of keeping the extended shackles and coils spacers and adding an add-a-leaf and coils, air lockers and slip yoke eliminator. I also need a new exhaust (header back).

Welcome.

I'd suggest NOT adding spacers on top of your spacers.

See if you can sell the stuff you've got, and get a 3" lift that has leafs and coils made for the lift. BDS sells them for less than $500, and with minor fender trimming you'll easily fit the 33s you want.

But, if you don't want to ditch the spacers, you can indeed run 33s with trimming on 4" of lift.

Sorry man, I must've misread your first post. I'm glad you aren't planning that way, though.

I'm guessing if you keep your eyes peeled on the classifieds section (once you have permission) you can find what you are looking for and for pretty cheap.

Yeah I look forward to adding air lockers so I don't have as many traction problems.

I've got an ARB in my rear D44 and love it.

I just wish I had the cash for a front locker.
