Default Hello there

Hi,
first of all i want to say , i'm from germany , so english is not my primary lanuage ... sorry if it might be dificult to understand me ..
i am faszinatet by the cherokees since i was 10 (thats about 15 years ago)
now i'm thinking about buying one... my father had an chrysler voyager ('93) and the transmission had a few problems with ther german driving-style ... we had to change it after only 100000km's .. is the transmission of a cherokee better than these of the voyagers ?
and what will be the fuel-consumption of an cherokee on german roads?
i am actually interestet in an '92 cherokee 4,0 limted... its cheap , but it has already run 260000 kilmeters ... can i buy this or is the engine already dead ?
i really have no idea abot this cars ... i just try to get informations ..
sorry for my bad english , i hope you can understand me ..

greetz

Hi and welcome from the UK.Transmition on 4 litre cherokee is good. Needs to be serviced regulary to be reliable, petrol about 20-22mpg on autobahn about 17-18 in town will be good at around 70 mph on autobahn. The 4 litre engine is good for high kilometers if looked after just like mercedes are ,guess you have one as Mb in your name .

Hi there again ..
Tahks for the information aout the fuel-usage ..
i think i really have to learn someting obout american driving ... in germany we say a car needs xx liters on 100 kilometers ... in america , you say you can drive xx kilometers per gallon ?!

i viewed a chreokee today and i wouldn't buy it ... it was rusty all over... even more than my '89 MB ... but i wont stop now ... i want to drive a cherokee ... i searched online again and now my question is : whats the main differece between a cherokee and a grand cherokee ? only 25 cm or soething else ? the grand has primary the 5,2 V8 engine but is there someting else different ?
