Hey guys, Just bought a 99 XJ last week. Right now I just want to get it road worthy. According to Carfax I'm the third owner. The thing is completely stock but in need of some love. Here's the laundry list: replaced the leaking valve cover gasket (it had been leaking for so long I had to steam clean the engine to verify any other leaks-possibly rear main seal), replaced upper and lower control arms and various bushings but there is still a front suspension knock though, cooling flush, replaced all fluids, spark plugs and air filter. There is a little play in the drive shaft I have to check out yet. Might have to replace the thermostat as it runs at about 160-180 degrees, normal is 210 from what I've seen here. My wife went to town steam cleaning the interior. Overall it seems like just normal wear and tear. I couldn't be happier with my purchase and can't wait to replace some fun stuff. Later dudes.
