Model: Cherokee (XJ)
Hello, New
My name is Josh.
Back in 1993 or so, my first vehicle was a 1985 XJ Cherokee I inherited when my parents bout a van for the family. At 83hp, it did 0-60 in 20 seconds and was the perfect vehicle for a teenage boy to learn driving and wrenching.
During my senior year, I was hit head-on by a Camaro on the highway. Not my fault and got money for my second vehicle, a 1976 CJ5 that the owner began building, and ran out of money for.
I ended up rebuilding that engine properly, and overbuilding it a bit. It had a fiberglass tub and no rear seat or tailgate, so I just turned the rear into a speaker box with four 12" subs.
A fun vehicle, I ultimately was putting too much power through it. I blew the rearend a couple times (AMC 20; could never find a Dana 44 of the correct size.) Ended up selling it and buying a Blazer.
I ran with Blazers for the next three vehicles.
When my last Blazer was totaled on Saturday (not my fault; dude forgot to stop and rammed my butt end) I decided to go back to Jeeps for a bit. Found a Grand Cherokee yesterday and am tearing into it today, and am also looking for a Wrangler.
It's good to be here.
Regards,
Josh
